Honouring Our Team and Cinderella Roll Call: Acting Company; Director's Blog: 54B

.. So onto the next roll-call  - Acting Company and Young Company.

Sharif: I have loved your mix of sharp tongued humour and genuine sensitivity and passion for what you do. You are a no b*******t actor and I love you for that! Your duet with Amy still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!

Ian: You have nailed it with Nefaria and as far as I can see, she has opened up a new world to you! She is now so present as a separate persona to you, it can be quite scary!  Its been great to see you grow, and now to know you have this double-act in your bag of tools!

Sally: I really liked your FB post about it never being to late to fulfil your dreams! And I am so pleased that your FGM brought you to this Cinderella for an opportunity to do something new and special. And you have.

Andy: You actually worry me a bit! Watch out that you don't take that Lascivia home too often - your other half might get just a little p****d off! It was great to find her with you - and that defining moment we had about finding her will remain a key memory! Not least when she was then born.

Amy: From a girl who had just finished her A Levels to a young woman who has launched her professional career successfully and who has grown her confidence and skills on a daily basis. You, like CInderella have transformed and for you its into a true professional. Congratulations.

Barbara: The woman who can make Nita stop in her tracks doing the VAT return to walk into the rehearsal studios to just listen to "that" voice. You bring your rich talent to Cinderella and your Thatcher-like portrayal reveals the Evil Stepmother as she might appear now! Well done.

Dean: Well what can I say...... what can he say! Well just about anything! Just point him in a direction, give him a gentle nudge and away he goes, delighting everyone in the auditorium! You conduct an audience with mastery and its a joy to watch you. We really got a BOGOF with you playing Dandini and Buttons! Fabulous. (btw - you left your archetype cards on the table again!)

Young Acting Company

Team One:

Myleene, Demi, Gabby, Jemma, Freya M, Brooke, Freya K and Ella

Team Two:

Sam, Coral, Olivia, Rosie, Stacey, Jessica, Zarmina and Ellie

Well done to you all. You have really grown as performers throughout the rehearsals and run of Cinderella. When we first started working together I was impressed with  the overall level of your singing and dancing, but really quite concerned that your acting for the most part wasn't at the same level. You will remember the funny little exercises we did to find character and I think that was pretty new for most of you. But through the rehearsal period I saw you grab your characters with both hands and begin to integrate the dancing and singing into them. So the end result for all of you, without exception is that you developed a great deal of skills which should enhance your ability and will certainly show in your work with your teachers I have no doubt.

I have loved every minute of working with you all. You make me laugh a lot and the hugs are pretty nice too. This may be the end of Cinderella but watch this space for the next thing.......2013

Well done everyone!

NB: I have had to remove your original blog as your name appeared and I know you wanted to remain anonymous. So re-posted here.

With only one day and two performances to go, I felt it was OK to contribute to the blog. I am writing as an anonymous contributor but only to protect the innocent. I have now watched 4 live Cinderella performances and 1 1/2 live streamed and will be watching just one more time. It is fair to say that despite having a vested interest in TC it is unlikely I would have watched as many if I had not enjoyed all aspects of this musical. I have loved Phil's music, and Ollie's song lyrics and script. The cast all appear to have enjoyed this experience and seem to have formed strong friendships. Their professionalism and skills have both delighted and entertained our family and friends and it has been a pleasure to meet all of TC. The two youth groups have also shown great skills and are a credit to Owen and the rest of the creative team. I hope they have enjoyed performing as much as we have enjoyed watching them. We have enjoyed Carole's blog and meeting her (may the blog continue). on Honouring Our Team and Cinderella Roll Call: Acting Company; Director's Blog: 54B
